Leake Family Genealogy



The preceeding  generations of the Leake family are:

James Franklin Leake, his Wife Margaret, and his Mother Mary

My great-grandfather, James Franklin Leake was born on 16 April 1863 in Boonville, Cooper County, Missouri, and died on 28 December 1948 in Clinton, Henry County, Missouri.

Margaret Albertine Veulemans was born on 17 November 1861 in Coal, Henry County, Missouri, and died on 04 January 1947 in Clinton County, Missouri.

They were married on 27 September 1885 in Henry County, Missouri.

 

Walter Chester Leake was born on 11 March 1829 in Mason County, Kentucky, and died on 25 November 1917 in Leesville, Henry County, Missouri.

He served in the Enrolled Missouri Militia during the Civil War. 

His first wife was Lydia M. Westbrook, who married Walter on 4 August 1853. She was the mother of James Franklin Leake and one other surviving son, John Leake. She died about 1864.

Mary Elizabeth Haile was born on 12 May 1836 in Bedford, Bedford County, Tennessee, and died on 21 April 1924 in

Clinton, Henry County, Missouri. She raised all of Walter's children.

They were married on 04 June 1865 in Cooper County, Missouri.



Chesleigh "Charley or Chester" Leake was born on 19 July 1803 in  Kentucky, and died on 15 October 1849.

Polly White was born in 1805 in  Kentucky, and died in 1840.

They were married on 18 July 1826 in Mason County, Kentucky.



Walter Leake was born on 28 December 1768 in Rocky Springs, Goochland County, Virginia, and died on 20 August 1853 in Mays Lick, Mason County, Kentucky.

Susannah Jones was born on 16 March 1772 in Rocky Springs, Goochland County, Virginia, and died on 01 October 1848 in Mays Lick, Mason County, Kentucky.

They were married on 1 October 1790 in Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia.



Josiah Leake ​was born on 19 March 1730 in Rocky Springs, Goochland County, Virginia, and died on 21 September 1795 in Rocky Springs, Goochland County, Virginia.

He served as a Captain in the Goochland County, Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War.​

Ann Minter was born in  1740 in Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia, and died in 1777 in Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia.

They were married in 1767 in Goochland County, Virginia.



Walter Leake was born about 1687 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia, and died on 24 November 1775 in Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia.

Judith Mask was born on 14 April 1698 in Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia, and died on 16 May 1758 in Rocky Springs, Goochland County, Virginia.

They were married in 1710 in St. Peters Parish, New Kent, Virginia.

 

William Leake was born in 1664 in Nottinghamshire, England, and died on 08 September 1725 in Rocky Springs, Goochland County, Virginia.

Mary Bostick was born in 1670 in Nottinghamshire, England, and died in 1717 in Rocky Springs, Goochland County, Virginia.

They were married before May 1685 in England.

They arrived in Virginia on 25 May 1685.
